Venue
The National Hockey Stadium is Ireland's premier venue for top international hockey. Located in University College Dublin (UCD) in Belfield in Dublin's inner southside, the Stadium was constructed to host the Women's World Cup in 1994. Since then, the Irish Hockey Association have hosted a plethora of top international tournaments there, including the Men's European Nations Championships in 1995 and, most recently, the Women's European Nations Championships in 2005. The stadium was fully renovated for the Women's European Nations Championship in August 2005, with a new Olympic-grade carpet being laid and state-of-the-art changing rooms being added. The stadium has capacity for approximately 1,500 seated spectators, with greater capacity with the addition of temporary seating.
