Over €7,000 raised!

Okay, so we're not the handiest fella's

Some of us (Ahem .. Bruce) may have a questionable sense of direction, and I don't think anyone would have mistaken us for the Irish Cycling Team

The squad are still busy collecting in their sponsorships, but we thought we'd give you an update on how much we've managed to raise so far. To date we've received €3600.01 through our online sponsorship cards and €3655.60 off line ... totalling €7255.61 thus far!

Thank you to Corinthians HC, Three Rock Rovers, Glennane HC, YMCA HC, Monkstown HC, Pembroke HC and Railway Union for coming out to play us! Special thanks to Railway Union for the meal and much needed shower at the end of the day!

Thank you to Niall Devine for your generous and kind intiative in setting up online sponsorship cards for the lads. What a super convenient and easy way to assist fundraising initiatives. Thank you!

Thank You & Well Done!

Thank you for your tremendous support! We'll be putting together the full story with details, photos and (hopefully) video to share with you... In the meantime, an enormous thank you to our supporters/sponsors and well done to the lads on dreaming up, organising and participating in such a bold challenge!

Cycle & Play

- 21st May 2011 -

The Irish Men's Squad will give SEVEN Leinster Division 1 Clubs the opportunity to take on the Irish Men's National Team in a series of 40 minute Club VS Country matches in just ONE day!! In this unique fundraiser, the Men in Green plan to start their day at 10am, the morning of the 21st May (the day of Irish Hockey Awards) in Corinthian HC and cycle to 6 further locations - covering approximately 14 miles - and playing a 40 minute match at each venue against club opposition. The day wil not only be a great physical test for the Irish Lads and a great opportunity to raise much needed funds, but will enable us to give something back to a number of clubs around the capital. All this will be completed in time to shower and order the first pint before the Heineken Cup starts - all in all the perfect preparation for the Irish Hockey Awards Dinner that same night!

If you wish to support this great day out please get in contact with any of the lads in the Squad through emailing us, through personal contact, or through our Twitter accounts.

So come and watch the lads take on your local club and enjoy the atmosphere!

PS We may need someone who can cycle on behalf of Tim Lewis or someone with a tandem bike who's willing to lift him round!

Thank you!

What a response! Thank you for the tremendous support shown for the Irish Men's Squad yesterday!

We had planned to have the third, and final, draw today, but due to the overwhelming response yesterday we've decided to leave the crowd in peace!

An extra special - totally unexpected - and sincerest thank you to yesterday's two Winners, Professor Robert Grieve & Jennifer Patterson (UHU President), both of whom donated their prize money back to the Squad!!!

Great effort from the guys: the 'Cash Cow' (aka Peter Caruth), Jacko Jnr, Geoff, Gormo, Mikie, PB, Taz and also Claire Caruth!

Do you have to be present at the Draw to win?

No, if you'd like to purchase tickets, but you can't stay for the draw, just make sure you write your name & telephone number on the ticket stub before putting it in the "hat"!

But, if a ticket is drawn without a name (only ticket number) and you're not there or you don't come forward to claim your prize straight away, you'll lose out and another ticket will be drawn out the hat.
