To all Branches, Clubs, Schools, Colleges, Umpires and the Hockey Community,

As previously advised, the recent change of dates for the FIH World League Round 2 for both our men's and women's teams has necessitated a change to the domestic Calendar. This has required the various parties to have to re-group (Branches, High Performance, Competition chairs) and draw up the revised Calendar which can be found on http://www.hockey.ie/contentPage/136623/calendar  along with the accompanying notes on the operation of the Calendar.

Commenting on the revised Calendar, Inez Cooper, Chair of Competitions, wished to thank all the various stakeholders for going through the process again at short notice, "while it wasn't an ideal scenario to have to go through what is a long process again, the movement of World League to February in both cases has served our domestic Calendar better allowing us have our High Performance players available to us for what is traditionally the ‘business end' of the domestic season".

The Calendar for prior to Christmas is un-changed. The Irish Senior Cup Finals Weekend has been moved to 23/24 March. The IHL will now take place entirely after Easter for both the men and women in a back-ended, pooled venue arrangement as agreed by the Clubs at the IHL Forum in March. The IHL Pool schedule is being updated at the moment and will be notified at the end of the week, along with the updated IHL Rules & Regulations for 2012/13.

The branches have noted that the revised Calendar provides more dates to provincial leagues and extends the period to the end of the season.
