Ireland 5 (2) John Jermyn x 3; Conor Harte; Mikey Watt Austria 1 (0) Daniel Korper
Ireland's men took on Austria this afternoon in Wales in their second game of World League 1- with a 5-0 win over last nights hosts Ireland continued their winning ways in a match which saw John Jermyn net a hattrick and become Ireland's top goal scorer of all time.
The match started off seeing both sides go close but it was Ireland who took the lead when John Jermyn scored his 80th goal for Ireland with a set piece routine. The first half ensued with a disciplined performance from both sides but with only eight minutes before the break Ireland made it two again thanks to Jermyn.
Ireland punished Austria early in the second half for giving away another penalty corner this time defender Conor Harte was on hand to covert and make it 3-0. But with 15 minutes to go Austria finally go one back but it was too little too late as Mikey Watt cancelled out the attempt when he shot home from the top of the circle minutes later making it 4-1.
