It was an action packed and goal-filled day at Columba’s College at the National Indoor Finals that saw Three Rock and Ards scoop the titles. There was little separating Three Rock from Railway Union at half time of the men’s final, but 5 goals in 5 minutes in the second half changed the shape of the game. Three Rock prevailed with an 8-5 win to take the title while Railway’s Eoin MacArthur picked up the Man of the Match Award. The women’s final was even tighter with nothing splitting the sides at half time as they both went into the break with a goal apiece. Kate Dillon and Chloe Brown exchanged goals early in the second half to level the game at 2-2 but Ards slotted home 2 goals to put the game out of reach. Brown got the fifth on the hooter to cement Ards title and it was just reward as she picked up Player of the Match Award.
Congratulations to all the teams that reached the National Indoor finals, and a big thank you to Rob Abbott for all his hard work throughout the season. Thank you also to Guy Robbins and Tristan Stedham for their great work with streaming all of the matches.
