HOCKEY: ESB Electric Ireland Irish Hockey Awards 2011
International Irish Rugby player Tommy Bowe and ex Irish Soccer Manager Brian Kerr announced as guest speakers of the ESB Electric Ireland Irish Hockey Awards, 21st of May 2011.
This Saturday the 21st of May, the Burlington Hotel will play host to the 6th annual ESB Electric Ireland Irish Hockey Awards. This will be the most glamorous night in the Irish Hockey calendar and promises to be an enjoyable evening for all involved. The event will celebrate the achievements of the hockey community from grassroots to international teams and players.
The evening will be attended by hundreds of members of the hockey community including top international players such as Alex Speers and John Jermyn. The master of ceremonies will be the renowned RTE presenter; Darragh Maloney. This year the event will also be attended by two special guest speakers; ex Irish soccer manager Mr. Brian Kerr and International Irish rugby player, Tommy Bowe.
The Awards will honour an array of people for their outstanding achievements throughout the hockey season. In addition, we will introduce four inductees to the prestigious Hall of Fame; they are Gwen Doherty, Mark Burns, Stephen Martin and Violet McBride.
The evening will be followed with great entertainment as all in Irish Hockey celebrate the past season.

About the Awards
The awards night will bring together Ireland's top players, coaches, umpires, officials and volunteers to honour twelve individuals for their outstanding contributions to Irish hockey.
If you're involved in Irish hockey, this is an evening not to be missed! A full black-tie gala dinner will precede the presentation of awards in eleven categories across the whole of Irish hockey!
Also at the Awards evening new inductees will enter the Irish Hockey Hall of Fame – a institution, which is now in its fourth year, honouring legends of the past from Irish hockey's enviable hockey history, which stretches back to the 19th Century.
