Competition format
A large number of teams have entered the competition and regional qualification tournaments
will be held to produce the six teams to participate in the Finals Day (14th and 15th January
2011
.
The qualification tournaments will be structured as regional groups with each team playing
against each other in a round robin format. The match duration for games in the qualification
tournaments will be determined by the availability of suitable indoor halls but will be not less
than 15 minutes a side.The tournament shall be conducted in accordance with the Rules
of Indoor Hockey and the Regulations of the F.I.H.
In each pool, all the teams will play against each other once, and the following points will be
awarded for each match :
- three points to the winner
- one point to each team, in the event of a draw
- no points to the loser.
In each pool, teams will be ranked according to the number of points each has accumulated
in the competition.
