About The ESB Kate Russell Cup All-Ireland (Girls) Schools Championship

About the ESB Kate Russell.

The ESB Kate Russell Cup brings together the top school talent in a play-off tournament to decide the All-Ireland Schools (Girls) Champions of the year and winners of the Kate Russell Cup.

The winners of each provincial school cup from each of the Branches (Ulster, Leinster, Munster, Connacht and South-East) and the previous winner's branch who gets two entries (the winner and runner up of their provincial cup) play-off in two pools of three with the winners progressing through to a final.

The event is a highlight in the schools sporting year and is feverishly attended and supported by pupils from the competing schools.

2010

The 2010 Tournament will be hosted by Connacht as Colaise Iognaid won the Tournament in 2009.  The Tournament will take place in Galway at Dangan.  The format will remain the same with the Pools seeded based on last years final positions.
